Last week I had the pleasure of having my dear friend Melissa from MJ Gowen Photography shoot behind the scenes of a sweet baby girl newborn session. We've been in the new studio now since April and just a few months ago we celebrated two years of photographing tiny humans. 35 newborns later, I thought it was time for some proper photography to show what goes on in the background to make our beautiful Mia Bella newborn images.
Our beautiful model is tiny Zoey, daughter of my wonderful friend Rachel who is also my super talented makeup artist at Pink Owl Photography (my double life photographing our Senior High School girls!) She was one of the very first friendly faces I encountered when I started with Pink Owl, always supportive and encouraging, welcoming me with open arms, so for that I am eternally grateful. And I was absolutely honored to be her sweet daughter's first photographer.
So how about a digital trip around the studio?

Stopping for a few snuggles before the next setup is one of my most favorite parts!!!
And while I'm putting together our next set, Mama looks on as she holds Zoey.
But before we go on to the next set, let's capture just a few of the beautiful new Mama.
For the infamous basket shots, baby must be SOUND asleep. The warmth of the space heater, the sound of the noise machine… I have my tricks.
I absolutely LOVE my tiniest of clients. Getting to know their Moms, hearing their beautiful birth stories, watching them grow up after our shoot. It is such an honor to be a part of that journey.
