It's always such a joy to photograph the one year birthday of my newborns. Here is Miss Ellison and her beautiful Mom and my sweet friend Hadley! Love you girls!

And just like her newborn session, Mom had the best ideas for her shoot and brought LOTS of PROPS!! LOL!!!

Like this one... this is Ellison's GRANDMOTHER'S wedding dress. And if that wasn't amazing enough, is was her MOTHER'S wedding dress too!!

 And how about that tutu?!! Nothing is more girly than a PINK TUTU!!!!

 And how about a matching tutu for Mom? 

 We created this photo from a photograph Hadley has with her Dad. <3

 Oh my gosh, Hadley you are so BEAUTIFUL. And Ellison... look at those LIPS!!!

 Apparently, this is how Ellison is always walking around the house - hairbrush in hand. HA!

 Annnnnd..... Ellison is deciding to act ONE.

 Originally just a test shot for lighting, but I love the help from Mom getting on her childhood rocking horse!

 I mean, she's ONE what can you do?! LOL!

Why are some photographers so EXPENSIVE?! {Mia Bella Photography, Louisville KY}

Have you ever wondered why at certain times, usually the beginning of the year, your favorite photographer suddenly increases their pricing?

It's not so much that you are paying for a better quality photo paper or canvas material. Professional photographers order products through professional printing labs. Labs that you have to submit your artwork and sometimes licensing information in order to use their services. And while professional labs do an excellent job with quality, durability and most importantly matching the printed art to the art your photographer sees on their computer screen... paper is paper.

What you are really paying for is talent and experience. And with each passing month your photographer is learning, growing and improving. Improving to offer you even better artwork.

So here's an example of mine. Back in October I really thought this was a great image. But with new tools, new editing techniques, new education and practice, it looks much different with a re-edit from today.

 As with anything... never stop learning.

What I love most about photography is that is takes a single second and freezes it in time forever. My daughter is the inspiration behind this little company. She is the Mia in Mia Bella Photography. And time around us is speeding up at an incredible accelerated level. I often tell my husband, "I want to keep her this age forever." I am so thankful for our recent family vacation, allowing me to capture these moments where it was just she and I, playing under the pier, where in this moment I can indeed keep her 6 forever.

Summer Mini Sessions are coming in July! Friday July 19th we'll be holding a vintage lemonade stand inspired setup at Blackacre Conservatory.

$95 due upon booking to reserve your spot. 20 minutes, 7-10 proofs in an online gallery and 5 ...high resolution images of your choice with print release.

Rustic barns, faded quilts, lemonade in mason jars... this shoot is designed for small children, families or couples. Come be a part of this fun concept shoot!

Raindates for Friday will be Sunday (the 21st) at same times. If that date is rained out, your payment will be refunded. No other refunds will be granted.

March 17th we are ON LOCATION at Zubrod Stables in Prospect. You will also receive a certificate for a B1G1 free lesson! {In case of inclement weather we will move indoors to the home studio}
