When to Book a Newborn Session? {Newborn Photography, Louisville KY, Mia Bella Photography}

Newborns are some of my absolute FAVORITES to photograph. Getting to see them grow up through the months is very special too!

I had a client call Mia Bella Photography today and ask when should they schedule their newborn session, they were 6 months into their pregnancy. I told them NOW! We are currently awaiting two newborns, both due on July 13th, overdue, tormenting their poor mommies and they've been scheduled on our books for months! I get excited when I flip through our scheduling book and see already babies due in October!

When you decide on Mia Bella Photography to photograph your littlest's modeling debut, we set you up with our Newborn Welcome Packet, loaded with great information to help you get ready for your sweetie's photoshoot. It's easier to read it NOW when you actually still have TIME to read. ;) Then in your super easy online contract we place your due date. Our newborns are scheduled to be photographed UNDER TWO WEEKS of age. This is VERY important so that we can get those sweet baby in a basket pictures.

So around that due date we wait. You are officially scheduled for an appointment (where I bring absolutely everything we need for the photoshoot TO YOUR HOME) so you don't have to do any of the work. You don't even have to get out of your yoga pants! Even I'll be wearing yoga pants (you know, soft for the babies!) ;)

Once your newest sweet one is here and you are home, you will contact me and we'll set up our date within the next few days following. Appointments are always in the morning, last about three hours, are very relaxed and stress free for you!!!

WINTER NEWBORN SPECIAL! {Newborn Photography, Louisville KY}

I absolutely LOVE photographing newborns. Though I equate it to what I think it would be to do "hot yoga" ... keeping very still with my arms outstretched holding the sweet baby in place all the while a space heater is blowing directly on me... it's definitely a workout. But a WONDERFUL workout.

 

The winter months are hard on outdoor photographers. Let's face it... no one really wants to stand out in 15 degree weather to have their pictures taken. So that's why newborn photography is such a big part of Mia Bella Photography during those cold winter months.

 

I bring absolutely everything we would need for a full studio photoshoot - into the new parents' home. All they have to do is sit back and watch!!

Newborn Photoshoot Gift Certificates Now Available!

My husband laughs every time I come home from a photoshoot because I say, "Oh families are my favorite!" or "Yeah kids are definitely my favorite" or there's "Yep, high school seniors, favorite, hands down." I think they're all my favorites, but is there such a thing as better than favorite?

Because if there is... then NEWBORNS are it for me. Funny thing is, when I started this company, I never thought I'd want to photograph babies. Frankly, the 1,000 pound horse which towered over scared me LESS than a 7 pound squishy baby. I just didn't think I'd know what to do, how to hold them, how to NOT break them. I mean, I have my own daughter who is 5 now... and I have yet to break her!

Several months ago I decided to give it a go. And you know as a kid when you kick and scream to not try a certain food, then you do, and you LOVE LOVE LOVE it?

I don't know, something just clicked. {photography humor, d'ya catch that?} Holding them, loving them, putting them in baskets with funny hats on their heads then holding them in place until they stay there... ;) It is just so. much. fun. And it's so relaxed in the new parents' home. I wish I had known of something like this when Mia was born... if only I had started the company before her, right? ;) A recent Mom called me the baby whisperer... I didn't have the heart to tell her this story I just told you... if she only knew.

But now, oh NOW! I wish I could shoot babies EVERY DAY! {more photog humor... shoot... get it? *snicker*} So I've made up this pretty little 5X7 gift certificate and will soon have them in stock for you to purchase.
