Newborn Photography in Louisville KY, Mia Bella Photography

I am an on-location high school senior, family and children photographer. But one of my most favorite to photograph are newborns. Within the first two weeks of the new little one's life, I bring a mobile studio, complete with backdrops, lights, heater and props, to the new parents' home. It's a very relaxed shoot, taking time for snuggles and snacks, making sure baby is comfortable as well as Mom and Dad! The shoot usually lasts around three hours, and not only do I get to love on the sweet new lives, I get to make some great new friends with the Moms! While I grew up with a photographer Mom, my business is just a month shy of being two years old. However, our newborn division just celebrated it's one year anniversary! And in just one year, yesterday I photographed my 20th baby!!
It's an absolute joy to get to hold and love on these tiny new humans. And getting to see them start celebrating their one year birthdays is even better.

Lemonade Mini Sessions with Mia Bella Photography
It all started with a picture. I was scrolling through Pinterest and came across the cutest vintage looking lemonade stand. All these brightly lit colors in yellow and white made my creative idea go from 0 to 60. I turned to my husband, God bless him, and asked, "Could you build this?" Now, I knew already that he most certainly could, he's quite handy when it comes to things like that... what I really meant was, "Would you build this for me?" And I already knew my answer... ;)
We actually found some building instructions online and off to Lowes we went. My husband had his paper and calculations and scribbling furiously he loaded boards, screws, wingnuts, and a bunch of other stuff I don't the name for while I skipped off to find the perfect paint. ;)
Then in just an afternoon, my vision came to life.
Mia helped me paint it the subtle white and yellow and with the last touch of the scrolling "LEMONADE" across the top, it was ready.
We had six families come out to brave the heat. Thankfully for them the session only lasted 20 minutes! As for me and my fabulous assistant Melissa, we spent four hours in 98* heat... but it was sooooo worth it.
I just love it when a creative idea starts in my head and it turns out perfectly on the screen!
And as a last minute idea, I pulled together another setup just with using items around my house! LOL! It ended up competing with my favorite spot against the lemonade stand!!

Why are some photographers so EXPENSIVE?! {Mia Bella Photography, Louisville KY}
Have you ever wondered why at certain times, usually the beginning of the year, your favorite photographer suddenly increases their pricing?
It's not so much that you are paying for a better quality photo paper or canvas material. Professional photographers order products through professional printing labs. Labs that you have to submit your artwork and sometimes licensing information in order to use their services. And while professional labs do an excellent job with quality, durability and most importantly matching the printed art to the art your photographer sees on their computer screen... paper is paper.
What you are really paying for is talent and experience. And with each passing month your photographer is learning, growing and improving. Improving to offer you even better artwork.
So here's an example of mine. Back in October I really thought this was a great image. But with new tools, new editing techniques, new education and practice, it looks much different with a re-edit from today.
As with anything... never stop learning.

When to Book a Newborn Session? {Newborn Photography, Louisville KY, Mia Bella Photography}
Newborns are some of my absolute FAVORITES to photograph. Getting to see them grow up through the months is very special too!
I had a client call Mia Bella Photography today and ask when should they schedule their newborn session, they were 6 months into their pregnancy. I told them NOW! We are currently awaiting two newborns, both due on July 13th, overdue, tormenting their poor mommies and they've been scheduled on our books for months! I get excited when I flip through our scheduling book and see already babies due in October!
When you decide on Mia Bella Photography to photograph your littlest's modeling debut, we set you up with our Newborn Welcome Packet, loaded with great information to help you get ready for your sweetie's photoshoot. It's easier to read it NOW when you actually still have TIME to read. ;) Then in your super easy online contract we place your due date. Our newborns are scheduled to be photographed UNDER TWO WEEKS of age. This is VERY important so that we can get those sweet baby in a basket pictures.
So around that due date we wait. You are officially scheduled for an appointment (where I bring absolutely everything we need for the photoshoot TO YOUR HOME) so you don't have to do any of the work. You don't even have to get out of your yoga pants! Even I'll be wearing yoga pants (you know, soft for the babies!) ;)
Once your newest sweet one is here and you are home, you will contact me and we'll set up our date within the next few days following. Appointments are always in the morning, last about three hours, are very relaxed and stress free for you!!!
So go ahead and book your newborn appointment with Mia Bella Photography!! We would be absolutely HONORED if you did so. :)

Mia Bella at the Beach {Mia Bella Photography :: Louisville KY Photographer}
What I love most about photography is that is takes a single second and freezes it in time forever. My daughter is the inspiration behind this little company. She is the Mia in Mia Bella Photography. And time around us is speeding up at an incredible accelerated level. I often tell my husband, "I want to keep her this age forever." I am so thankful for our recent family vacation, allowing me to capture these moments where it was just she and I, playing under the pier, where in this moment I can indeed keep her 6 forever.
